Who we are?

We are a family run business and have been trading since 2004.

We first started off with our first shop on Rawtenstall Market, where we soon had emails and messages from all over Facebook asking about postal sweets and sweetie cones for kids parties etc. We started an online pick and mix shop a year later and have gone from strength to strength. As our passion for sweeties grew, so did our family business. 

 We have a shop in Bentham Village, we sell 'pretty much everything' and a selection of sweets. We open Monday to Saturday. We have a HUGE PICK & MIX Section at our first shop n Rawtenstall Market.. We open Thursday Friday & Saturday. This is an amazing market to visit. Especially if you are a Foodie. Our 3rd shop is on Clitheroe Market where we have 2 Cabins, This is how a market should be, it is busier now than ever. Clitheroe is a great day out.
 

Who does what? 

Myself.. Sweetie Sue (AKA MUM). I work at our shop on Rawtenstall Market Thursday, Friday & Saturday. I do the buying for the shops  3  days a week and the online 7 days a week. The buying  takes me all over the North of the Country.  Along with Amy, we run our online shop!  I will never turn up to a party or a gathering with friends without a big bag of sweeties! I LOVE a happy customer and always go above and beyond. 

Steve... Swee... erm, just Steve (AKA DAD). Has the shop 'Duxburys General Store, Bentham' and also does the buying for the shop. (It's not what you know, its who you know, he likes to strike a deal!).

He has worked for many years in retail starting when he was as young as 14.. so over the years has supported many wholesalers, so gets fantastic deals. He is famous amongst our family for doing over 30,000 steps a day on his Fitbit!  We did nt believe he walked so much at the wholesalers!! He always said he walks more than all of us.. We didn't believe this, so we got him a Fitbit. He was right.. over 30,000 steps a day when he is buying.  Wow.. not bad going!  Steve also absolutely loves his customers & they love him,  simply ask them, they will tell you! :) 
 

Hannah.. AKA Eldest daughter (Mummy to Eden  & Margo). Hannah is the manager of our shop in Bentham, a general store in a small village and she is loved by everyone. Always a huge smile for everyone and wants to help wherever she can in all aspects of life! Hannah is an avid instagrammer and keeps onto of our sweetie page.  She helps out whenever we need an extra pair of hands.

Tom... Second eldest son, twin to Hannah. (Daddy to Tommy & Matilda) For many years Tom worked along side us in our shops as he was training to become a teacher (his dream job) .. and oh boy, did he get there! He is an amazing teacher! We still have customers asking about him even after all these years, it's fair to say he certainly left his loving mark. Tom now helps out eating the Sweeties, he is definitely the biggest sweet eater of the family and the leanest, ironically. Tom will help us out when he is not teaching.

Amy... Youngest Daughter AKA Golden Child (as she calls herself) .. (Mummy to Elle and soon to have another little one very soon).

Amy keeps us all in line, she is the organiser, website manager, instagrammer, vlogger and makes sure everything is clean and tidy WHERE EVER she is! Amy is the manager of the sweet shop on Rawtenstall Market but is taking a step back whilst on Maternity leave, she  Manages the Website and hopefully will continue this whilst on maternity Leave.. You can certainly hear Amy before you see her, she will be the one singing or humming (without realising), if there is a drip or a constant noise, Amy will tap out a tune with it!  what we would consider an annoying tapping or drip, Amy would consider to be some form of music to tap along with!  Amy is never without a smile and also loves our customers! Amy goes down well with our older customers and is an active listener, always takes time to listen to customers tales & woes.

George... Youngest Son, Our baby! (He is 22 years old) George has worked in our family shops as a Saturday boy during school and during his plumbing apprenticeship that he partook for 18 months before he decided that he would like to play more of a role in our family business and work full time for us. He is amazing! He works so hard and everyone loves him! George's passions are sweeties, cars and his lovely girlfriend Tegan, not neccesarily in that order. He goes above and beyond for our customers too! They dooo love him.

James, Adam, Sophie and Teagan are the partners/ husband of my children and all of them help out when needed and get paid in ... SWEETS!
